“Before we get down to particulars, let’s look at the main part of the complete financial statement,” Holmes suggested. “We are not concerned with the front pages of large corporations’ glossy annual reports to stockholders, which typically contain upbeat interpretations and graphics of the year’s results, though they may contain useful information as well. Our concern here is with the more objective financial statements.
