Abstract
The concept of peace education is a contested and suspect concept.1 Different scholars have conceived of peace and peace education in sub-stantively different ways. As such it has been difficult to fully agree on a universal definition of peace education. However, referring to the work of Anderson, Trifonas, and Wright claim that his definition of peace may provide a working definition. Peace is:
the absence of violence to any aspect of human life.2
