Abstract

“Golam Khadir,1 seeing that the confederates were determined to exterminate him, took post in the fortress of Meraut, opposite to Delhi, entrenched his army round it in the strongest manner, and, in short, took the most vigorous method of defence when too late, as he was strongly invested on all quarters, and his retreat to Ghos Gur totally cut off.
