Abstract
Presenting a portrait of a political leader is not common among Senegalese historians. The most well-known examples of such portraits are of renowned leaders or high-ranking officials in the hierarchy of political parties or the state. This paper goes against this tendency. It outlines and analyzes the career paths of two women who have variously marked Senegalese political evolution: Arame Diène and Thioumbé Samb.
