Abstract

Although researchers have identified, and advanced, a profusion of characteristics and qualities associated with effective leadership, few can be touted as absolutely indispensable. Leaders’ characteristics and the requirements for—and the definitions of—their leadership vary widely depending on the context.1 Yet, many researchers agree that leadership knowledge and skills can be learned.2
