Abstract

My diary for February 18, 1969, contained the following entry:

I discussed with members of my staff the growing concern that an officer of a certain industrial nuclear facility may have diverted appreciable amounts of enriched uranium-235 to Israel over the last several years. This possibility has apparently been brought to the attention of the president.
