Sub-acromial impingement syndrome that has failed to respond to more conservative measures. The patient will have trouble with overhead activities and classically describes a painful arc of motion between 60° and 120° of abduction. This may manifest as a painful block to abduction due to excessive discomfort. There will usually be cuff tenderness palpable just anterolateral to the tip of the acromion.
