Abstract

Imaging plays an important role in the current management of patients with postoperative wound infection. Early detection of the extent of intra-abdominal infection and complications is crucial because clinical deterioration can be precipitous. Knowledge of the available imaging tools will facilitate recognition of postoperative complications and allow prompt interventions.
