Sepsis of Thoracic Origin

Appropriate thoracic imaging is a useful adjunct for investigating pyrexia of unknown origin. This subchapter describes the main thoracic differential diagnoses to consider for a patient with fever of unknown origin including pneumonia, tuberculosis and empyema. The essential initial steps for investigating further are discussed.
