Mediastinal Masses

Mediastinal masses varies from those that are asymptomatic benign lesions to that with aggressive invasive neoplasm. Presenting features depend upon the pressure effects on the surrounding structures. Imaging allows a more holistic approach in patient management. This chapter discusses in utilising various image modalities in particular Chest radiographs and Computer tomography in managing pericardial effusion, compression of airways and pulmonary vasculature and postoperative chest.
