Abstract
This chapter gives information on the use of radiographic techniques with a focus on aspects relevant to the intensive care unit (ICU). A technical overview is given, to improve understanding of the modality. Strengths and limitations are discussed, with particular relevance to the situations encountered on ICU. Factors important for patient preparation and adequate imaging are detailed. Possible indications are provided, with relative cautions and contraindications.
