Abstract

Sarcomas are considered radioresitant and surgery has remained the primary treatment. Adjuvant radiation in the pre and post-operative setting has been shown to improve local control. When adjacent normal tissues limit radiation dose, particularly in the recurrent and metastatic setting, conformal radiation techniques like Stereotactic Body Radiotherapy (SBRT), could be a useful treatment modality. This Chapter discusses the role of SBRT in the treatment of soft tissue sarcomas.
