Rheumatic Disease



The consultant should not assume baseline laboratory tests will be normal. The medical consultant should try to confirm the rheumatologic diagnosis by discussion with the patient, the patient’s rheumatologist, and review of records in order to assess the disease-specific risks of surgery.
