Abstract
In HAZOP result, there are huge amount of safety information and cause/consequence relations highly related to abnormal situation in plants. When theses cause/consequence relations from HAZOP result is integrated with the process control system, this information can be used to predict possible hazards developing in the process. It would be very useful for operators to identify abnormal situations in plants, and could support operators to take corrective action against abnormalities. We have developed HAZOP based operator decision support system. The system identifies applicable fault propagation by searching the database based on HAZOP result in order to inform abnormal situation to operators. The system is implemented by using Microsoft Access.
