Abstract

The accident management measures (AMs) were implemented to all the light water NPPs in Japan by the spring of 2003 in response to the recommendation of the regulatory authority. This paper mainly deals with the effect of AMs applied to a BWR-5 MarkII plant in terms of source term reduction which was analyzed by the MELCOR1.8.3 code.
