Abstract

Some time ago ENEA (an important Italian Research Institute) developed, in a project partially financed by the European Commission, a software tool for the definition and improvement of maintenance on the basis of reliability criteria. In consideration of the difficulties encountered in its application, important modifications should be introduced into it in order to achieve the prefixed results. Alenia Aeronautica (an important Italian company) denoted its interest to finance the introduction of those modifications. In the following the results of the analysis performed to verify the profit that may be obtained by the application of the software tool in aeronautics.
