On the cost function for periodically inspected standby safety systems

Abstract

In this paper we propose a model to find the optimal maintenance and inspection policy for two-component standby safety systems taking into account partial inspections and failure interactions. We consider costs due to inspections, maintenance actions and periods of system unavailability.
