Abstract
An important first stage in the study of the initial value problem (6.16)–(6.20) is an investigation of the permanent form travelling wave (PTW) solutions of equation (6.16) which may be generated from the initial value problem (6.16)–(6.20). We study these in this chapter, and to this end we make the following definition.
