Abstract

A 74-year-old male who had previously suffered from diverticulitis presented with acute lower abdominal pain. A presumptive diagnosis of diverticulitis was made and treatment with intravenous antibiotics commenced. However, the lower abdominal pain worsened and localised diverticular perforation was suspected.
