Abstract
A 55-year-old male patient was reviewed on the ward with increasing abdominal pain. He had undergone laparoscopic anterior resection for a rectal polyp at 11 cm from the dentate line. Biopsies had twice shown severe dysplasia.
On examination he was tachycardic and febrile.
