Abstract

In this chapter, we describe how to perform meta-analysis of continuous and dichotomous, stratified and non-stratified data. We also demonstrate how to generate some of the commonly used graphical methods for displaying the results of meta-analysis.

Whilst the Review Manager Software package is an intuitive and easily accessible method for performing meta-analysis, care must be taken to perform a robust review of the literature and adequately explore heterogeneity in order to obtain more reliable results.
