Abstract

In this chapter we will make explicit certain exotic properties of the groups \({\mathrm{SL}}_{2}({{\mathbb{F}}_{\!q}})\) when q=3, 5 or 7. These include exceptional isomorphisms, inclusions as subgroups of \({\mathrm{SL}}_{2}({{\mathbb{F}}_{\!q}})\), and realisations as subgroups of reflection groups. For a recollection of definitions, results about reflection groups, see the Appendix C.
