Abstract

Chapter 3 discusses Boolean algebras. This topic arises from a combination of set theory and logic. After the introduction of the rules of Boolean algebra, Boolean forms are discussed. An important topic is the investigation of minimal disjunctive forms, a standard form of Boolean form.

These objects are used in the analysis of digital circuits. Digital circuits are of importance in the study of electrical systems, and are fundamental to the analysis of how computer circuits are used to perform calculations. This chapter is of great interest to students of computer science.
