Abstract

One-dimensional steady-state problems are encountered in boundary value problems involving displacement of prismatic rods, heat transfer in a cooling fin, pressure-driven laminar ideal and viscous fluid flows between two parallel infinite walls and the corresponding heat transfer problems, and in general, potential problems as well as engineering problems involving the bar equation.
