Abstract

This chapter and the next are devoted to the trigonometric system in the spaces Lp(T) and C(T). In this chapter we will develop some new tools, including convolution and approximate identities, and then in Chapter 14 we apply these tools to determine the basis properties of the trigonometric system in Lp(T) and C(T). Sources for additional information on the material in these chapters include [Ben97], [Kat04], [Gra04], or [Heil].
