Some Riemann Sums Are Better Than Others

This note contains some results obtained while ruminating about Riemann sums. We know that nothing here is truly new, but we know of no other place in which these ideas are presented in the way that they occurred to us. In particular, some of them are so elementary that we hope they will find their way into calculus texts.
