Abstract

Renal retransplantation (RRTx) has a worse short and long term prognosis than first renal transplantation. It is associated to a higher incidence of medical and surgical complications. Except for the Collaborative Transplant Study, most of the published series include recipients with conventional and cyclosporine-A (CyA) basal immunosup-pression, and the real information about prognosis and complications of RRTx in the CyA era is not extense.
