Abstract
From the CABI data-bases 257 abstracts of papers issued in 1997 and early 1998 were summarized into 6 huge synoptic tables. Trends are examined by commodity groups and species for all crop types. Perspectives for the future are stressed from the frequencies of beneficial, neutral and detrimental effects of essential and non-essential elements with specific attention to N, K and organic matter. Nota: tables and references are presented only in an extended version containing more comments and available on order.
