Abstract

Problem solving is defined as a process of finding a sequence of actions, starting from the initial state and reaching one of the goal states. This chapter considers problem solving in multiagent environments and investigates the role of organization self-design, i.e., how multiple agents dynamically develop an efficient problem solving organization to achieve a shared goal [Ishida, 1993].
