Abstract
The previous chapters focused on relationships between Turner Farm and other sites in Maine and adjacent areas. Useful as these data have been for regional culture history, their relevance over a much broader range has become ever more apparent in recent years. This chapter, therefore, shifts focus from provincial issues to certain aspects of prehistory throughout much of eastern North America during the past 5,000 years (Figure 8.1; Table 8.1).
