Abstract

In this chapter, we like to present a few most important approaches to the problem of mathematical representation of VD-objects, excluding subdefinite sets. The following concepts will be recalled: fuzzy sets, fuzzy sets of type 2 and ultrafuzzy sets, semisets, intuitionistic fuzzy sets, fuzzy sets with triangular norms and implication operators induced by them, and lattice-valued fuzzy sets. However, special attention will be paid to the primary idea of fuzzy sets.
