Heart Murmurs

Family physicians, pediatricians, and internists all have regular contact with athletes in settings where a heart murmur may be discovered. This chapter discusses the diagnosis and management of a newly detected heart murmur in the athletic population and reviews current guidelines that allow for the safe sports participation
