Sometimes a small effort can change someone else’s career significantly for the better. Resha Putzrath In this chapter and the preceding Chapter 8, the perspectives of 26 women scientists, engineers, mathematicians, and administrators and 16 postdoctoral fellows and students are reflected in their views of the joys and sorrows, problems and solutions, strengths and weaknesses of a career in STEM. A number of themes were recurring in the extensive database of in-depth interviews compiled by the Association for Women in Science as part of its work on a National Science Foundation grant.
