A 60-year-old woman was diagnosed with breast cancer. She received chemotherapy as well as prophylactic granulocyte colony-stimulating factor (G-CSF). Five days later, her peripheral blood showed a total leukocyte count of 30, 000/μl with 1% blasts and 20% immature myelomonocytic cells (Figs. 78.1, 78.2, and 78.3). Dysplastic granulocytes were also noted.
