Abstract

Gasochromic films consist of an electrochromic layer such as WO3 and a very small amount of a catalyst. For sputtered or evaporated films the catalyst is usually coated onto the WO3 (Figure 1), whereas for sol-gel films a homogeneous distribution of the catalyst in the WO3 can also be achieved by adding salts of Pd or Pt to the sol.
