Gastric/Small Bowel Manometry

  • Jeffrey Conklin

Manometry of the antrum and small bowel has been performed for several decades with the same technologies used for esophageal manometry. However, the patterns of contractions in these segments are more complex than those of the esophagus, and the advantages of high-resolution manometry (HRM) over other recording techniques are best highlighted in this segment of the gastrointestinal (GI) tract.
