Abstract

In this chapter, we present a brief description of the linear stability approach and discuss the problem of nonlinear pattern selection for stationary and wavy patterns. Then we discuss different types of convective instability characteristic for systems with an interface. As the basic model, we use the two-layer model (see Section 1.2.3).
