Head, Neck, and Back Pain

  • May L. Chin
Chapter

Abstract

This chapter covers pain in the head, neck, and back regions. These are broad topics. Therefore, to be concise, the discussion in this chapter will focus on common presentations and findings in patients presenting with pain in these anatomical regions. Since back pain is one of the most common complaints among patients, this topic will be addressed first, followed by neck pain and pain in the head region. Headaches are covered in length in Chapter 27 and therefore will not be discussed under pain in the head section.
