People have always been very keen on making models. Making scaled-down things that are perfect replicas of the originals is an interesting and entertaining hobby and at the same time we can also learn a lot from it. We make model airplanes, ships, rockets, and cars. But so far nobody has ever made a model of the universe, one in which we could see our Solar System with the Sun and planets, its position within the galaxy, the Local Group, other clusters of galaxies, and further – basically the entire universe as known today.
