Nowhere is the charming old phrase ‘Don’t put all your eggs into one basket’ more applicable than in the world of data storage. Everyone interested in storing and manipulating images, making digital drawings, taking astronomical images with digicams and CCD cameras, and recording astronomical videos is wise to seek to backup their work in places other than solely on the computer’s hard disk drive.
