Percutaneous Versus Laparoscopic Feeding Tube Placement

Multiple options exist when permanent feeding tubes are required. This chapter explores the alternatives—specifically, whether the percutaneous or laparoscopic route is preferable. Obviously, the first decision that must be made is whether feedings can be given into the stomach or whether jejunal access is necessary. This was explored in more detail in Chapter 19.
