Abstract

IN 2006, the National Radio Astronomy Observatory (NRAO) passed the 50-year point in its service to the astronomical community and now looks forward to an exciting future as one of the world’s premier resources for answering the key questions that challenge 21st-century astronomy and physics. Today’s world-class suite of NRAO telescopes provides unique and powerful capabilities for frontier research. Combined with effective user support programs, extensive archives of observational data, and expanding software packages, NRAO telescopes will continue to be among the most vital tools available to astronomers in the coming decades.
