“Not Thin Enough!”: A Case of Anorexia
A 28-year-old woman was hospitalized by her family after she made good on her promise, “Maybe suicide will work for me.” She was found partly conscious in the family garage, locked in the closed car, with the engine running. It was considered a serious suicide attempt and not merely a gesture. It was absolutely clear that had she not been discovered in time, she would have died.
