In the first several chapters of this text, theoretical and definitional considerations of CBC were reviewed. Empirical studies of the model have been increasing, with research focusing primarily on outcomes, communication processes, and social validation. Findings have generally provided support of CBC as an effective model for addressing behavioral, academic, and socioemotional concerns. In addition, much has been learned about communication patterns and relational aspects within CBC interactions and perceptions by consumers. These research areas are reviewed in this chapter.
