As it has been shown throughout this first part, many current researches focus on grippers miniaturization. At scales larger than typically 1 mm, the reference gripping technique for components (typically SMD components) is the vacuum gripping. This technique is also applied for submillimetric applications; however, it seems to reach its limits.
