Handling Principles for Microassembly

Part of the Microtechnology And Mems book series (MEMS)

Theoretical classifications of forces acting at the considered scale have been presented in the previous chapter. Now, we summarize the handling principles which have been proposed in literature in order to transform these forces in technological solutions. As a lot of different gripping principles exist, it has been decided to put forward (1) a first overview (based on a compilation of existing [2, 141] and own [113, 177] states of the art), (2) an own classification scheme, and (3) the comparison scheme proposed by Tichem et al. [169], used at the end of the chapter.
