From Conventional Assembly to Microassembly

Part of the Microtechnology And Mems book series (MEMS)

The goal of this chapter is to give an overview of different assembly strategies that can be used at the considered scale from 10 µm to 10 mm. Indeed, even in the field of microproducts, components have to be assembled. The production of microsystems integrating many functionalities, many components made of different materials require flexible, modular, accurate mechanisms, which can finely feed, pick, orientate, move, and release different types of objects at the right place.
