Abstract

While undergoing an emergency exploratory laparotomy for management of a perforated sigmoid colon and perforated diverticulum, a 62-year-old patient was discovered to have a 5-cm splenic artery aneurysm. The patient’s comorbidities include diabetes mellitus, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease, and coronary artery disease angioplasty and stent placement x3 performed 10 months ago.
