Many people feel that observing planets requires special skills, superexpensive optics, and perfect seeing conditions. Although all of these ingredients are important, having fun and rewarding observations can still be had if you have a basic understanding of how to use what you have. I would like to start with some rudiments before I touch upon the use sketching materials and various techniques.
