Abstract

We demonstrate that the efficiency of an optical poling process depends on quantum interference controlled by the self-stabilized carrier-envelope phase of the idler output from our noncollinear optical parametric amplifier system. To control quantum interference via direct control of the carrier-envelope phases instead of conventional control of the relative phases of two pulses is a new approach to coherent control.
